Sunday Night Steals

This week's Sunday Night Steals is in celebration of my current color crushes bordeaux, gold & turquoise (or teal). And black isn't a color. It's a neutral so that doesn't count. But that's a topic for another day.

But really though, I love this color palette and I chose some great transitional pieces to get you through this weird weather time frame between Winter and Spring where it can literally be 30 on the way to work but by lunch it's already 73.

Also, I am totally obsessed with hats right now and that little teal beauty is SO CUTE and SO CHEAP. Come to mama!

Oh and did I mention everything is under $50? Happy Sunday to YOU!

In the Name of Love + a Really Great Sweater

So Valentine's may have come and gone, but love is still in the air especially since this little heart print number is on sale and under $100! I've always had a love for Wildfox Couture, but I love a Wildfox Couture piece on sale even more. Especially this lightweight shredded sweater. I know it's a bit unusual but I've really grown to love it and it's versatility!

I mean obviously it's great for Valentine's Day, but I love it for everyday wear too! And since I'm in full on vacation planning mode right now, I just might stash it in my suitcase for a trip too!

Speaking of which, does anyone have some fun and affordable vacation spots I need to check out?

P.S. How'd you do on that love yourself assignment from last week?

Love + Lace + The Dress I Just Can't Stop Wearing

I have a bit of a confession to make: I am NOT a girly girl. But darnit if I don't absolutely LOVE this dress!

I don't pull out all the stops very often, but I felt it appropriate to give a nod to the season of love.

This dress though, we've got to talk about it. I literally wear it over and over and over and OVER again. And I'm not a bit ashamed to admit it! I could feel comfortable in this at a work cocktail, a holiday party and obviously, Valentine's Day. I guess you could say it's my go to.

I haven't quite figured out my Valentine's Day plans yet, but they might just need to include this outfit, whether we decide to stay in or not.

Have you made your plans yet?

P.S. My little Madison Marcus number is unfortunately out of stock, but I've linked to some similar ones below!

Jirts + Skirts

Chambray Shirt // Maxi Skirt (on sale!) // Sunglasses // Purse // Shoes (similar) // Earrings // Necklace

Ah Valentine's Day. Easily the most polarizing day of the year. I really love to hate this holiday. I really do. So that's why we're going to do things differently this year because I don't believe that one day should validate an entire relationship nor do I think rules are any fun.

In fact, forget the rules. I'm not playing by them this time. And neither should you. Fashion or love.

That's why we're calling this little ensemble my "Jirt meets Skirt" combo. I admit, it's stepping outside of the box a little.. I mean I paired a jean shirt (jirt) with a chiffon maxi skirt. It's weird, BUT I LOVE IT.

And it's totally me.

So that's what I am going to challenge you to do this Valentine's week and day is to love YOURSELF and DO YOU.

Do things that make you feel happy and appreciate the badass human being that you are. You want to wear that Hawaiian shirt and harem pant combo? You do it. (Okay maybe scratch the Hawaiian shirt.. but you get the point.)

Step outside the lines a little and do things a little differently. Be the most authentic and best version of yourself.

Don't measure yourself by other people's demands and expectations. Measure yourself by the person you are and want to be. And that person is worth loving... 365 days a year.

Sunday Night Steals: Valentine's Gift Guide for Him

Valentine's Day is right around the corner which means it's yet again, another season of gift giving. If you haven't found the right gift for your guy yet, don't stress! I've got you covered.

I've pulled together some of my favorites (courtesy of good ol' Nordstrom) that would be perfect for the guy in your life!

Better yet, everything is under $100 so you don't have to worry about breaking the bank.

Happy Love Month my friends!

Excuse Me While I Have a Boho Moment

Holy Cow. Have I ever told y'all how obsessed I am with Free People? If not, let me reiterate myself and make sure it is well known that I have an unhealthy infatuation with the brand and I'm not even the least bit afraid to admit it.

Let's be honest. Basically all of their stuff is amazing. Like this dress for example. HOW CUTE?!

I actually stumbled across it on a mad Nordstrom dash I made the other day (not uncommon at all). I snagged it off of a rack as I ran by and literally didn't even try it on. And it fits LIKE A DREAM. Of course it does though. It's Free People.

It's such a simple dress but you can wear it all year round. I love it with booties, sandals, and in fact, I even threw on some over the knee boots with it the other day. Not to mention the fact that you can totally hide your brunch food baby if need be.. Hey, a girls gotta eat!

So yeah, it's pretty perfect.

As obsessed I am with this sweet little boho number, I also have to share my lust over THAT HAT. I hope y'all are starting to see the trend here with all my burgundy I've been wearing as of late. AKA as of always. The color crush is real folks.

And the fact that it's under $50 makes it that much cuter. Because let's be real.. no one really has $500 to throw at a hat. Sorry.

What's your go to look these days?

Winter Floral

Blouse // Pencil Skirt (similar) // Shoes // Bag // Earrings // Bracelet // Watch // Necklace

First things first. No, you are not seeing things and yes, I am wearing lipstick. I'm as shocked as you are. Trust me. But red lips aside (we can save that for another time).

But what I really wanted to talk about was floral.

To be quite honest, I have a bit of a love hate relationship with the print. There are some that are pretty and lovely and they are SO GREAT. Others? Well, they remind you of the curtains at your great grandmother's house. Not a good look.

BUT I've managed to find a print that event I, Ms. Not a Girly Girl can rock and feel comfortable in.

Usually I'd pair it with a black skirt or trousers as this blouse is in my work wardrobe rotation. But this time, I thought it might be fun to throw in some emerald green to give what would usually be a Spring type top, a more Winter look.

Did I mention it comes in blue? And that both colors are on sale too?

*heyooo*

What is your take on the floral situation?
